Managing Director & Financial Planner
David, who lives in Midlem, has been a qualified adviser since 2000 having worked for Royal Bank of Scotland, Santander and latterly ran his own business.
He joined Lowland at the end of 2020 and is primarily focused on looking after his existing as well as new clients. David took over as Managing Director in October 2022.
He is married to Alison, has two children, enjoys golf (club champion in 1992 at Selkirk and The Woll in 2018), and photography in his spare time. David played over 90 games for Selkirk RFC.
David is currently coping with the demands of a 5 month old West Highland Terrier called Ziggy!
Operations Manager
Michelle grew up in Tweedbank and moved back to the borders in 2011 from Newcastle, continuing her career in the housing sector. She joined Lowland Financial in August 2021 on a full-time basis and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge in terms of I.T. operating systems and management.
Michelle oversees the Lowland operations behind the scenes and manages the support team, working closely with David to ensure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Michelle has been instrumental in helping integrate MacBeth Currie and Sovereign Financial in Lowland as well as streamlining internal processes.
Michelle lives in Ednam with her husband, Der, and mum to their dogs, Dexter and Cache and three cats, Jack, Bella and Barney.

Ross joined Lowland at the end 2023 following the acquisition of fellow Galashiels advice business Sovereign financial.
With a wealth of client servicing experience spanning over 20 years Ross is focused on looking after our new and existing client relationships having joined us from St James Place Wealth Management. Every client that Ross meets is left in no doubt he is passionate about ensuring they get the possible advice.
He is married to Kerry, has two daughters and lives in Edinburgh. Ross is an avid F1 follower and made it to Monza this year to rack up another Grand Prix on his ever growing list. Ross enjoys the odd game of golf and keeping fit at his local gym.
Financial Planner
Having moved to The Borders from Yorkshire at age 24, Joe joined Lowland Financial in July 2024.
With 8 years’ experience working in the Financial Services Industry, Joe has taken the next step of becoming a Financial Adviser focusing on looking after all the financial planning needs of his Lowland clients. In the short time he has been here Joe has already made a big impression and is a firm favourite with his clients.
In his spare time Joe can be found planning another holiday or his wedding next year with his fiancee Emma, walking his Staffordshire Bull Terrier, George, or out on the golf course in an attempt to better his handicap of 5.
Chartered Financial planner
Alicja joined Lowland Financial in May 2025 after being involved in financial services for over 14 years. Alicja is passionate about giving quality financial advice and recently became our first Chartered Financial Planner which shows her dedication to the profession.
Bilingual in English and Polish, initially learning English at school in Poland and has now been in Scotland for 17 years. In her spare time Alicja enjoys keeping fit and has completed quite a few marathons, including the Edinburgh Marathon raising money for Breast Cancer Care.
Alicja is married to Romek and mum to German Shepherd Draka.
Financial Planner
Gary is based in our Dunfermline Office, having joined our team in 2022. He worked outside of the industry for over 30 years before deciding on a career change that driven by his interest in investments and the desire to help clients realise their financial goals. Gary has become a a big hit with his clients in Dunfermline and offers a high quality of financial advice that our clients deserve.
Outside of work, you will find Gary keeping fit, riding his motorbike around the Highlands or relaxing on the river bank with a fishing rod.
Senior administrator
Rachael has worked for Lowland Financial since 2008 but has a long background in the Financial Services Sector having previously worked for Lowland Insurance Brokers in Galashiels and Edinburgh. Rachael plays a crucial role implementing our clients plans, liaising with providers qnd keeping everything updated in our back office systems.
She works 3 days a week and is married to Paul with a daughter. Rachael can often be found bounding over the hills with her mad Golden Retriever, Luca.

Senior Administrator
Gayle joined Lowland Financial in 2023 from Sovereign Financial Services where she worked for 19 years and brings a wealth of experience and knowledge of the financial services sector.
Gayle works closely with the adviser team to ensure our clients plans are implemented liaises with our providers whilst updating our back office systems and many many more tasks involved in ensuring our team and clients are well supported..
Gayle works 4 days a week, has two daughters and can be found tinkering in garden or socialising with friends in her spare time.

Sarah was born in Kettering, Northamptonshire and moved to the Scottish Borders in 2001, where she was educated at St Peter’s and Galashiels Academy, she still lives in the town.
She joined Lowland Financial in October 2021 and works full time.
She has considerable experience in customer service and is responsible for booking and preparing for review meetings whilst also looking after the financials.
Sarah has played the drums in several local pipe bands, which has seen her partake in the World Pipe Band Championships in Glasgow and travel around Europe as a member of the Scottish Borders Pipe Band. She is a keen F1 fan and made it to the British Grand Prix this year to support Lando Norris and McLaren.
Sarah is mum to cats Thomas and Missy.

Julie was born in Wigan and moved to Galashiels in 1999 to work with the mental health charity Penumbra. She has worked as an administrator within financial services for 18 years, joining Lowland Financial in 2023 from Sovereign Financial Services.
Julie is a part of our admin support team who book and prepare annual reviews whilst also helping with our compliance on a regular basis.
Julie is married with two children and enjoys a mix of hatha yoga and rock music as well as long walks in the Uplands with her border terrier Ruby.
Client Servicing & Office Co-Ordinator
Andrea runs our Dunfermline office having joined Lowland Financial in July 2025. After an extremely successful career in the Royal Air Force for 24 years, Andrea has 4 years experience as an IFA Administrator, a role which she has embraced with gusto. A great addition to not just Dunfermline but also the team in Galashiels
Andrea had a passion for cooking & baking and has played the majority of sports(specifically Rugby at the RAF & Tri Service Level, gaining 8 caps). Married to Stephen and mum to a crazy Australian Labradoodle called Rosie.
Senior Administrator
Karen is a huge part and well known face in our office in Dunfermline, having joined Macbeth Currie in 1999 and joined Lowland when we joined forces this year.
Karen works three days a week looks after all things back office and supports the adviser team implement their clients plans.
Karen has a son Lewis and enjoys taking holidays whenever time allows.
Administrator
Zoe has joined our Dunfermline office after a career outside of financial services and brings an excellent track record in customer care and administration. We are looking forward to seeing Zoe progress and are delighted she has chosen to work with us in Dunfermline. Please give Zoe the warmest of welcomes.
Office Dog and the real Boss
Cache can be found bossing the office on a part time basis when Michelle brings him along to keep us all going. He never turns down a treat and please say hello the next time you are in.
